IHL Cat. #2700
Working exclusively with mezzotint, the most difficult of all printmaking processes, Yokoi is one of the Japanese artists credited with revitalizing this technique in the 20th century along with the more well-known mezzotint artists Hamanichi Katsunori 浜西勝則 (b. 1949), Hasegawa Kiyoshi 長谷川きよし (1891-1980) and Hamaguchi Yōzō 浜口陽三 (1909-2000).
This collection's print "Two Apples" is one of the artist's several explorations of this fruit.
Note that the artist's works are generally untitled, making most of the titles used descriptive.
